Conventional motor oils tend to vaporize and lose weight in high temperature conditions, contributing to poor oil
circulation, reduction in fuel efficiency and excessive emissions and engine wear. AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic
Motor Oil is highly resistant to evaporation. While conventional petroleum oils thicken due to evaporation, AMSOIL
Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil maintains its viscosity in high temperature service. The superior evaporation
resistance of AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil keeps engine wear, oil consumption and emissions to a
minimum, while keeping oil circulation efficient and fuel economy high.
Friction Modifier Free
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil contains no friction modifiers, making it ideal for ATV, outboard motor
and motorcycle engines. The friction modifier free formulation of AMSOIL 4-Stroke ensures transmission (manual or
automatic) and clutch compatibility and prevents slip.
Performance Formulated
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil contains a robust dispersant/detergent package, making it ideal for use
in high-stress four-cycle engines. The dispersant/detergent additive package effectively suspends harmful combustion
by-products and prevents deposits, keeping AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke clean and serviceable.
High-temperature operations often lead to the thermal degradation and oxidation of conventional oils, leading to the
formation of deposits, sludge and varnish. The superior oxidative and thermal stability of AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke
Synthetic Motor Oil inhibits the formation of varnish, deposits and sludge so equipment runs clean in high-stress, high

Compatibility
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil is compatible with other four-stroke fluids. However, a mixture of
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil and another oil may offer a shorter service life than pure AMSOIL
Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil.
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil is compatible with and recommended for use with clutch plates in ATV’s
and motorcycle transmissions.
Installation
Change AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil according to manufacturer's recommendations, without oil
filtration. With oil filtration (AMSOIL SDF Filter), up to 2 times longer than manufacturer's recommendations or 6
months, whichever comes first. If a Hastings or other filter is used, filter should be changed at manufacturer's
recommendations.

AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil exceeds the lubrication requirements of all modern automobile engines,
providing tough lubricating protection in the most demanding operating conditions. It resists high temperature
degradation and flows freely in cold conditions for substantial reduction in engine wear. AMSOIL 5W-30 provides
excellent engine protection, maximum power, improved fuel efficiency and extended oil drain intervals.
Resists High Temperature Vaporization
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil resists vaporizing in the high temperatures that vaporize petroleum motor oils. High
vaporization loss leaves a thicker, higher viscosity oil than is recommended. The NOACK Volatility Test, which
measures the weight loss of an oil due to evaporation, shows that most 5W-30 petroleum motor oils fail to pass the 13
percent ACEA pass/fail limit. In fact some oils lose as much as 25 percent of their weight to volatility. AMSOIL 5W-30
Motor Oil loses only 6.9 percent of its weight. AMSOIL 5W-30 remains a 5W-30. It provides consistent high
temperature protection and reduces oil consumption and harmful emissions.
Resists Oxidation and Thermal Breakdown
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil resists the damaging effects of heat, blowby chemicals and oxidation up to 10
times longer than petroleum motor oils. AMSOIL 5W-30 resists forming varnish deposits and sludge. It doesn't thicken
like petroleum oils, but continues to cool and lubricate, providing peak engine performance and extended drain
intervals. In addition, the advanced heat transfer capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL 5W-30 reduce excessive

Provides High Shear Stability
AMSOIL 5W-30 surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA oil specifications for high temperature/high
shear (HTHS) viscosity. It doesn't shear back to a lower viscosity oil in the high temperature/high shear conditions of
today's smaller, high RPM automobile engines. AMSOIL 5W-30 maintains an extremely protective viscosity of 3.5 cP at
302°F (150°C) in the ASTM D-4683 High Temperature/High Shear Test, far exceeding test limits of 2.9 cP.

AMSOIL 5W-30 remains fluid at temperatures as frigid as -60°F (-51°C). It permits easy engine cranking for fast starts

Resists Deposit Formation

MIXING AMSOIL
AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil is compatible with conventional petroleum oils; however, mixing AMSOIL
5W-30 with a conventional oil will shorten the drain period of AMSOIL 5W-30. Engine oil additives or after-market
products are not recommended for use with AMSOIL 5W-30.
SERVICE LIFE
In personal cars and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines: drain oil at 25,000 miles or one-year
intervals, whichever comes first.
In turbocharged gasoline engines, motorcycles, ATVs, marine craft and occasionally used gasoline engines: drain oil
at intervals up to three times as long as the intervals recommended by the engine manufacturer or six months,
whichever comes first.
In high performance and racing engines: drain oil according to the findings of used oil analysis.
In light-duty and non-turbocharged diesel engines: drain oil at intervals up to twice as long as those recommended by
the engine manufacturer or one year, whichever comes first.
In fleet and industrial engines: drain oil at intervals up to three times as long as those recommended by the engine
manufacturer if the findings of a used oil analysis program support the extended drain intervals.
If the vehicle is equipped with an AMSOIL Oil Filter, the filter should be changed at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals
(whichever comes first) in gasoline engines and 7,000-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in diesel
engines. Non-AMSOIL oil filters should be changed at the engine manufacturer's recommended filter change intervals.
AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are fully compatible with conventional motor oil. For best results, however, use AMSOIL
Engine Flush, then install AMSOIL synthetic motor oil.
For maximum engine protection, use an AMSOIL Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Air Filter.
Note: Most quick lube service centers will install these products upon request or install them yourself.

Fuel Efficient Formula
AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil efficiently
transfers energy from the engine to the drivetrain. Its low

to high viscosity oils.

Heat Stability
AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil is highly resistant to volatility. For example, in heat that causes
conventional motor oils to lose as much as 25 percent of their mass, AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil
loses less than ten percent.

MIXING AMSOIL
AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil may be mixed with petroleum-based oils or other synthetic oils.
However, a mixture of AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil and another oil may offer a shorter service life
than pure AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil does.
SERVICE LIFE
In personal cars and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines: change the oil at 35,000-mile or
one-year intervals, whichever comes first.
In turbocharged gasoline engines and occasionally used gasoline engines: change the oil at intervals up to three times
longer recommended by the engine manufacturer or six months, whichever comes first.
In high performance and racing engines: specified by Owner Experience/Oil Analysis.
Marine four-cycle gasoline engines and infrequently used automotive four-cycle gasoline engines: drain oil at intervals
up to three times longer than those recommended by the engine manufacturer, or one year, whichever comes first.
In fleet and industrial engines: drain oil at intervals up to two times longer than recommended by the manufacturer, or
six months, whichever comes first.
AMSOIL Oil Filters should be changed at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in gasoline
engines. If a Hastings or other filter is used, filter should be changed at manufacturer's recommendation.
