PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil is the modern lubricant for modern
farm and industrial equipment. Engineered specifically to meet the tough applications of
heavy-duty, hydraulic-powered operations, AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil exceeds
the performance requirements of virtually every piece of modern machinery. With its
unique blend of synthetic base stocks and advanced additive package, AMSOIL
Hydraulic/Transmission Oil provides exceptional lubrication to reduce wear, resist heat,
protect against rust and extend fluid and equipment service life.
Remains Stable at Temperature Extremes
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil operates over a wide range of temperatures. AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil
has a low volatility and high viscosity index to maintain its lubricity at high operating temperatures, and it flows at
temperatures as low as -40°F (-40°C) for improved equipment operation and wear protection.
Provides Controlled Seal Swell
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil contains seal swell agents to maintain sealing integrity. It provides a slight seal
swell to maintain a secure, tight fit.
Inhibits Rust and Corrosion
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil contains special rust and corrosion inhibitors to protect tractor components
against rust and corrosion.
Inhibits Foaming
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil inhibits foaming. Foaming reduces hydraulic oil pressure and diminishes the
lubricating protection provided by the oil. AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil continues to resist foaming even when
the reservoir level is low.
Suppresses Wet Brake Chatter
AMSOIL Hydraulic/Transmission Oil has friction modifier
additives that effectively suppress wet brake chatter.
When the friction modifier additives are depleted in a
conventional hydraulic/transmission oil, an imbalance of
pressure occurs in the tractor's brake system and vibrating
in the tractor can become uncontrollable. AMSOIL
Hydraulic/Transmission Oil remains serviceable for up to
three times longer than do conventional oils, and its f
riction additives remain intact for smooth, continuous
tractor operation.

Synthetic AW Series Antiwear Hydraulic Oils
Product Codes: AWF, AWG, AWH, AWI, AWJ
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Synthetic AW Series Antiwear Hydraulic Oils are shear-stable, long-life lubricants based on high-quality
synthetic oil technology. These oils are formulated with a premium additive system that inhibits oxidation (preventing
acid and viscosity increase), inhibits rust, and inhibits foam (preventing spongy hydraulics). AMSOIL AW Oils also
contain a very effective zinc-based antiwear/antioxidant additive which prevents wear in high-speed, high-pressure
vane and gear pumps while meeting the lubrication requirements of axial piston pumps having bronze-on-steel
metallurgy. AMSOIL AW Oils are designed for long life and typically reduce maintenance costs by extending drain
intervals and reducing labor associated with repairs, downtime, and change outs.
Amsoil Synthetic Base Oil Technology
AMSOIL's synthetic base oils resist thermal and oxidative breakdown, preventing carbon or varnish deposits. The very
high viscosity indices, low pour points, and lack of paraffins (wax) make these good all season lubricants well suited for
temperature extremes. At high temperatures and pressures, these oils will provide a good lubricating film and protect
components against wear. During cold temperature operation, equipment will start easier and the need for preheating
with sump heaters is reduced. The AW Series base oils also readily separate from water. This prevents unwanted
oil/water emulsions that inhibit an oil's ability to lubricate, allows for longer lubricant life, and means water can easily be
drained from the sump.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION
The correct viscosity grades of AMSOIL Synthetic AW Series Antiwear Hydraulic Oils are recommended for high- and
low-pressure gear, vane and piston stationary and mobile hydraulic systems. They meet the performance
requirements of all major hydraulic manufacturers and are excellent for general purpose use where extended drain
intervals are desired and in severe duty operations where temperature extremes are encountered. Even though
recommended for all-season use, AWF and AWG are the preferred choice for temperatures less than -20° F because
these oils are light-bodied and have very good cold-temperature properties.
Some applications include machine tools and presses, mobile construction equipment, farming equipment, logging
trucks, boom trucks and plastic injection molding machines. The appropriate viscosity grades of AW Oils are also
suitable for use in pneumatic tools, speed reducers, spindles and R & O gear applications.
The ability of the AW Series to extend drain intervals is subject to operating conditions and maintenance practices.
Monitoring by oil analysis is recommended.
AMSOIL AW Series Oils are compatible with hydraulic system seals, petroleum hydraulic oils, and most synthetic
hydraulic oils1. For optimum performance, it is recommended that the system be thoroughly drained and, if warranted,
cleaned prior to installation.
1 Not compatible with phosphate ester or silicone fluids.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL TBI hydraulic oil is a premium lubricant designed to biodegrade to its natural state when subjected to sunlight,
water and microbial activity. TBI has a very low toxicity level because the oil is formulated with ashless additives that do
not contain heavy metals.
AMSOIL TBI incorporates very high quality synthetic base oils that provide thermal stability, even though they are
biodegradable. This oil also contains antiwear additives that have been thoroughly tested and qualified against
stringent hydraulic oil standards including Denison HF0, HF1, HF2, Vickers M-2950-S, I286-S, and Cincinnati Milacron
P-68, P-69 and P-70. TBI provides optimum protection for your hydraulics because it prevents wear of the pump and
prevents rust of critical components. TBI contains antioxidants that increase the life of the oil and it contains foam
inhibitors that quickly release air from the oil.
TBI outperforms vegetable oil-type, biodegradable hydraulic oils because it is based on high-quality, synthetic oil
chemistry that lasts longer and withstands heat better. This ensures problem-free operation.

APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION
AMSOIL TBI is recommended for gear, vane and piston stationary and mobile hydraulic systems. TBI is a
multi-viscosity, SAE 5W-20 oil and is recommended for use in place of either ISO-32 or IS-46 hydraulic oils.
TBI is essentially compatible with typical hydraulic oils and small amounts of contamination (lines, residue) is
acceptable. However, it is recommended that systems be drained prior to installing TBI. Excessive system
contamination will minimize its biodegradability effectiveness.
TBI is especially well suited for applications where environmental contamination due to leaking or blown hydraulic lines
presents an environmental hazard.
TBI has been tested and found compatible with Nitrile (Buna-N), Poly Acrylate, Flourocarbon (Viton) and Silicone seals
which are commonly found in hydraulic systems. Consult your AMSOIL sales representative or AMSOIL INC. when
dealing with systems containing seals not listed.
The ability of TBI to extend drain intervals and excel in performance is subject to operating conditions and
maintenance practices. Monitoring by oil analysis is recommended.

SEMI-SYNTHETIC WL SERIES SLIDEWAY,
CHAIN AND GEAR LUBE
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic WL Series is a high-quality, heavy duty lubricant composed of synthetic base oils, large
molecule petroleum base oils and additives specifically designed for EP applications found in gear, chain and machine
tool applications. This combination of base oils and EP additives provides the excellent lubricity and film strength
needed to prevent scoring and wear during equipment operations. By incorporating synthetic base oils, AMSOIL WL
Oils reduce friction for good overall performance.
Machine Tool Slideways
AMSOIL formulated the WL Series with additives designed to prevent the stick/slip or chatter phenomena that
commonly occur at the beginning and end of a machine tool stroke. This happens because the lubricant and additives
are squeezed out during boundary lubrication conditions. Metal to metal contact then occurs, also causing wear to the
slideways. AMSOIL uses EP additives that form a hard boundary layer of protection and tackifying agents that improve
the adhesion properties of the oil. These additives prevent stick/slip and wear. Additionally, the WL Oils are anti-rust
fortified and have excellent resistance to water washout. This is important since emulsified cutting fluids are commonly
used and components are generally exposed to the environment.
Chain and Gear Lubrication
The performance characteristics of the WL Series make them ideal for chain and gear applications. These oils are
friction-reducing, compatible with seals and paints and are resistant to water. The tackifier agents used ensure the
components have constant lubrication, allowing the EP additives to prevent wear and the corrosion inhibitors to
prevent rust. The semi-synthetic nature of the WL Oils delivers excellent performance in a wide variety of
environments.
PERFORMANCE FEATURES
Tackified for excellent adhesion and water resistance
Rust and corrosion inhibited
EP additives prevent stick/slip and slideway scoring
Semi-synthetic adds lubricity and reduces friction
Recommended for slideways, chains and EP gear applications
APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION
AMSOIL WL Series Oils are recommended for use on machine tools where mating surfaces operate under heavy loads
and slow speeds. Some applications include the plain bearing slideways of lathes, shapers, grinders and milling
machines plus the slideways of saws and carriages found in lumber mills. AMSOIL WL Oils are recommended for use
on open or enclosed chain drives and in EP gear box applications where tackified EP gear oils are recommended or
where they do not pose a problem.
Note: Do not use the WL Oils on yellow metal or worm gear applications operating at or above 200° F.
