PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil combines the superior lubricity and performance
capabilities of a premium synthetic lubricant with special rust and corrosion inhibitors. AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty
Diesel and Marine Motor Oil is recommended for engines used in marine applications, as well as diesel engines used
in trucks, fleets, mining, earth moving, construction and farm equipment. Other applications include taxi and local
delivery fleets with gasoline or diesel engines. With its extended drain intervals, AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel
and Marine Motor Oil reduces maintenance costs, downtime and the cost of waste oil disposal.

Provides High Shear Stability

AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil surpasses the European ACEA and North American SAE
oil specifications for high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity. It is significantly more shear stable than
conventional motor oils, retaining its viscosity at temperatures and loads that break down conventional oils. AMSOIL
Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil maintains an extremely protective viscosity of greater than 3.7 cP at
302°F (150°C) in the ASTM D-4683 High Temperature/High Shear Test, exceeding the test limits.

Prevents Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil contains special rust and corrosion-inhibiting additives to
prevent the rusting or corrosion of iron, copper, lead and aluminum materials.

I
mproves Fuel Economy

The premium quality synthetic base stocks in AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil provide a
tough lubricating film on all engine parts, reducing friction and fuel consumption. Reduced fuel consumption reduces
exhaust emissions of carbon dioxide, water and particulates.

Resists Oxidation - Reduces Engine Wear

Conventional oils oxidize at high temperatures, causing sludge and deposit build-up that decrease fuel efficiency and
contribute to corrosion and increased engine wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil, with a
flash point of 442°F (228°C), resists oxidation and thermal breakdown far better than conventional oils. It continues to
provide maximum protection at temperatures that oxidize conventional oils. Also, the advanced heat transfer
capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil helps engines run cooler
and reduces wear.

Extended Drain Intervals

AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil is formulated for extended drain intervals. Its unique

designed for use in commercial, industrial and fleet applications requiring diesel specifications CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-2
and CF, while also suitable for API SL gasoline engine lubrication.

Resists Oxidation and Thermal Breakdown
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil resists breakdown from heat, blowby chemicals and
oxygen up to ten times longer than do conventional oils. AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil
resists forming sludge and varnish deposits, which contribute to corrosion, decreased fuel efficiency and increased
engine wear. AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil doesn't thicken like conventional oils but
maintains its viscosity, providing peak engine performance and extended drain intervals. AMSOIL Series 3000
Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil's superior heat transfer properties and exceptional lubricity reduces engine
operating temperatures and engine wear.

Fuel Efficient Formula
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil
efficiently transfers energy from the engine to the drive-train. Its
low coefficient of friction inhibits the energy loss to "drag" common
to high viscosity oils. AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30
Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil surpasses the API Energy Conserving
Rating requirements and provides significant fuel savings, with
additional savings in oil make-up for over-the-road service.

Low Temperature Protection
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil
remains fluid at temperatures as low as -60° F (-51° C). It circulates
rapidly to provide vital lubrication and prevent engine wear caused
by lack of oil flow. AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty
Diesel Oil allows quicker, easier cold temperature starting with
significantly reduced engine wear.

Reduces Oil Consumption
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil loses only 6.5 percent of its mass to high temperature
volatilization. Conventional multigrade oils often lose over 15 percent. Lower volatility means less oil vapor passing into
the combustion chamber, resulting in a reduction in oil consumption and hydrocarbon emissions. Additionally, lower
volatilization helps AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil retain its viscosity characteristics after
high temperature service for continued dependable protection and excellent fuel economy.

Non-Foaming
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil contains highly effective anti-foam agents to prevent oil
foaming.

Maintain Power with AMSOIL Diesel Oils

When you or your customers notice reduced performance in
Navistar/International diesel engine equipped vehicles,
AMSOIL diesel oils can help solve the problem.

Navistar/lnternational diesel engines with Hydraulic Electronic
Unit Injectors, used in Ford pickups, vans and school buses,
sometimes suffer drivability problems due to oil foaming.
Leaching of RTV silicone from the oil pan gasket into the oil
causes the foaming. Foamy oil interferes with fuel injection,
which reduces engine power.

The ASTM D 892 Foam Test, Sequences 2 and 4, are used
to evaluate diesel oils on their foaming characteristics relevant
to this engine. Recent testing performed by an independent
lab shows the results below.

According to test results, AMSOIL Synthetic 15W-40 Heavy
Duty Diesel and Marine Oil (AME) and AMSOIL Series 2000
Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (HDD) are clearly not
prone to foaming or contributory to the foam-caused drivability
problems of the IH engine.

The test also shows AME and HDD dissipate foam more
quickly than Rotella T, a popular diesel oil often recommended
by Ford. Faster foam dissipation means reduced foam related
drivability problems.

Let your customers know that silicone leaching diminishes with
increased engine mileage, and in the meantime the solution to
foam- induced drivability problems, regardless of oil brand in
use, is an oil change.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil is a modern blend of high performance synthetic base stocks, natural
base stocks, and advanced additives. It provides outstanding performance and protection over extended drain
intervals in light and heavy-duty diesel engines.

Remains Stable at Temperature Extremes

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 does not change viscosity (thicken or thin) at temperature extremes like
conventional motor oils. With its advanced semi-synthetic formulation, AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is
significantly more shear stable than conventional oils, retaining its viscosity at temperatures and loads that break
down conventional motor oils.

Resists Oxidation - Reduces Engine Wear

Conventional oils oxidize at high temperatures, causing sludge and deposit build-up that decrease fuel efficiency,
contribute to corrosion, and increase engine wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor Oil resists oxidation and
thermal breakdown far better than conventional oils. It continues to lubricate, cool and protect at temperatures that
oxidize conventional oils. In addition, the advanced heat transfer capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL Synthetic
Blend 15W-40 help engines run cooler with less wear.

Extended Drain Intervals

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is formulated for extended drain intervals. Its unique synthetic formulation,
excellent detergent/dispersant capabilities, and long drain additive package ensure maximum engine protection,
cleanliness, and performance over extended drain periods. In fact, 12 TBN AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor
Oil keeps engines in "like-new" condition even when the oil is used for extended service intervals.

Improves Cold Weather Performance

Due to their wax content, conventional oils thicken in cold temperatures and, on cold starts, may take as long as five
minutes to lubricate internal engine parts. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 stays fluid at very low temperatures. It
circulates rapidly to provide vital lubrication and prevent engine wear caused by lack of oil flow. AMSOIL Synthetic
Blend 15W-40 allows quicker, easier cold temperature starting with less engine wear.

Reduces Oil Consumption

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is low volatility oil. Low volatility means less oil vapor passing into the combustion
chamber. A reduction of oil vapor means lower oil consumption and lower exhaust emissions. The high detergent
alkalinity of AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 also helps reduce oil consumption.

Improves Fuel Economy and Reduces Emissions

The premium quality synthetic base oil in AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 provides a tough lubricating film on all
engine parts, reducing friction and fuel consumption. Reducing fuel consumption reduces exhaust emissions.

Protects Against Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 contains special rust-inhibiting additives.
It is ideal for use in engines used intermittently.

MIXING AMSOIL

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 is compatible with petroleum and synthetic lubricants; however, mixing the AMSOIL
with other oils will shorten the extended drain period. Oil additives or after-market products are not recommended
for use with AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Motor Oil.

APPLICATION

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil is recommended in applications specifying the following:

prevent deposits, corrosion and wear. AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40, with its broad viscosity range, is ideal for winter and
summer use. It resists breakdown and can extend drain intervals when monitored by oil analysis.

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world's first API qualified synthetic motor oil in
1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL The First in Synthetics® to do the best job protecting your engine.

Exceeds Emission System Requirements
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil is a low sulfated ash formulation that exceeds the modern requirements for low
emission quality diesel oil. It is compatible with all exhaust treatment devices and is designed to extend the service life of
particulate filters.

Controls Soot Thickening and Wear
The advanced synthetic base oils in AMSOIL 5W-40 Diesel Oil are naturally resistant to soot contamination. That, along
with a heavy fortification of detergent/dispersant additives, keeps soot particles suspended independently, helping prevent
the formation of larger wear causing particles. Viscosity increase is minimized and soot related wear is controlled.

Maximizes Fuel Economy and Reduces Oil Consumption
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Premium Diesel Oil has a very low high temperature volatility rate (burn off). Because less oil
vapor passes into the combustion chamber, oil consumption and emissions are reduced. Additionally, lower volatility
helps AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 retain its viscosity after high temperature service for continued dependable protection
and excellent fuel economy.

Excels in Extreme Temperatures
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Premium Diesel Oil resists thermal (heat) breakdown, oxidation and sludge formation better
than conventional petroleum oils. And unlike conventional oils, AMSOIL 5W-40 contains no wax. It stays fluid in cold

MIXING AMSOIL
AMSOIL ACD is compatible with conventional and synthetic motor oils, however, mixing AMSOIL ACD with other
oils will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain
intervals where AMSOIL ACD has been mixed with another product.

Aftermarket additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL ACD.

SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically
sound(2) vehicles or equipment as follows:

Personal Light Truck Diesel Engine Service

• Normal Service(3) — Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, or longer based on oil analysis.

• Severe Service(4) — Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, or longer based on oil analysis.

• Replace AMSOIL Ea™ full flow oil filter at the time of oil change up to 25,000 miles (other brands at standard
OEM* intervals).

Commercial or Fleet Vehicles, Long-Haul Trucks, Marine Craft, RV, Off-Road Equipment

• Non-EGR equipped diesels — extend drain intervals up to two times (2X) the OEM* recommended drain interval or
one year, whichever comes first, or longer based on oil analysis.

• EGR equipped or low emission diesels — extend drain intervals based on oil analysis or use the OEM* recommended
interval.

• Replace Donaldson Endurance™ or AMSOIL Ea™ full flow oil filters at the time of oil change up to two times (2X)
longer than the OEM* standard interval, not to exceed 60,000 miles in long-haul trucks.

Gasoline Engine Service

• In gasoline engines, oil drain intervals may be extended up to two times (2X) the OEM* recommended drain interval
(not to exceed 15,000 miles without oil analysis) or one year, whichever comes first. Replace AMSOIL Ea™ full flow
filter at the time of oil change up to 25,000 miles. Replace other brand oil filters at standard OEM* intervals.

*OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

(1) Where the engine or operating conditions have been modified from the original manufacturers' design, no oil change
interval recommendation is made. Oil change intervals are at the owner's discretion. Examples include the use of
performance computer chips; modified exhaust, fuel or air induction systems and the use of fuels other than those
recommended for normal operation by the manufacturers.

(2) Engines are in good working condition and within the factory design settings. Mechanically sound engines, for
example, do not leak oil or consume excessive amounts, are not worn out, do not overheat, do not have internal or
external anti-freeze leaks and have a properly working emission control system. AMSOIL recommends repairs be made
to malfunctioning engines prior to the installation of AMSOIL synthetic oils.

(3) Personal transportation vehicles frequently traveling greater than 10 miles (16 km) at a time and not operating under
severe service.

(4) Extensive engine idling, daily short trip driving less than 10 miles (16 km), frequent towing, plowing or hauling heavy
loads and frequent driving in dusty conditions. AMSOIL Ea™ and Donaldson Endurance™ full flow oil filters are
designed for extended drain intervals. They stop smaller particles, have less restriction and last longer than regular filters.
For best performance, use AMSOIL Ea or Donaldson Endurance oil filters.
