DJ Eckstrom Wins National Indoor Snocross Title
Super Snocross Stadium Tour Pro Open
Championship Caps Season
March 29, 2004 ~ D.J. Eckstrom, racing for AMSOIL/Polaris/Scheuring
Speed Sports, is the 2004 Pro Open champion of the Super Snocross
Stadium Tour presented by the World Snowmobile Association.
Eckstrom, from Duluth, MN, earned the title with consistency
and two podium finishes. He finished second at Minneapolis'
Metrodome and second at the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI earlier
in the year. Eckstrom nailed down the SSST Pro Open title with
a solid fourth place last weekend in front of 12,000 fans at the
Fargodome in Fargo, ND.
The SSST, commonly called the Indoor Super Snocross,
consists of four indoor snocross events. An event scheduled
for Toronto's Skydome had to be cancelled this season.
AMSOIL is the "Official Oil" of the series.
Eckstrom just completed a successful WSA Snocross Worldwide
Championship (SWC) campaign with a third place overall finish
in Pro Open and fourth in Pro Stock. He had 10 podium finishes
in 10 events.
